Wipes & Towels

For towelling there are two choices of Amicor blends with different benefits. Amicor is anti-bacterial and will provide a freshness and hygiene. It will even add 30% to the useful life of the towel. Amicor Plus is anti-bacterial and anti-fungal, so has the additional benefit of preventing fungal contamination, particularly good for sports towelling that might be slow-to-dry after use. 


Why do we need Amicor or Amicor Plus inside towels?


Kitchen towels and wipes  

For both contract and domestic markets, Amicor ensures a consistent and lasting hygiene inside textile towels and wipes. From glass cloths, hand towels and aprons to surface wipes, your textiles will stay more hygienic during use. Cutting down on cross-contamination  

In any kitchen, towels and wipes pass through the hands of many people, whether at home or in a professional kitchen. They come into contact with many surfaces between washes and can easily become contaminated by common bacteria, despite our best efforts on hygiene.  

Amicor prevents the growth of potentially harmful bacteria on towels and wipes, therefore cutting down on contamination and improving standards all round.    


Bathroom towels  

Bathroom towels are slightly different because they are thicker and take longer to dry and are, therefore, more prone to the growth of fungi. Bathrooms are humid and warm places where micro-organisms thrive. A big, fluffy towel can actually take a while to dry out and during this time, microbes can begin to take hold.   Amicor Pure simply makes towels more hygienic to use on freshly bathed skin.
 

Sports towels  

Everyone knows the stale odour associated with sports changing rooms and sports bags. That is the same odour than can attach itself to sports towels if they are not dried immediately after use. We now all know that this is caused by bacteria and fungi. Sports towels can quickly become unhygienic as they harbour these organisms. Amicor Pure prevents the growth of a broad variety of both bacteria and fungi within towelling, keeping it more hygienic during and after use. No more nasty smells from your sports bag!    


Roller towels

A combination of high temperature laundering and bacterial growht causes biodegradation of cotton fibres. Amicor performs a different function in this end use - the incorporation of Amicor fibre into roller towels dramatically reduces the rate of biodegradation and prolongs the useful life of the towel. Towels with Amicor inside become more tear-resist and will keep their original structure for longer.

Because Amicor helps roller towles to last longer, this provides a cost benefit to  suppliers and rental companies. The proven benefits of selling a towel containing 30% Amicor blended inside also means that the towel will last an incredible 30% longer.


Cotton and linen blends  

Amicor blends intimately with cotton and linen. It is an inherently soft fibre and will stay soft even through repeated washes. The fibre will not affect the softness or fluffiness of bath towels or the absorbtion of kitchen towels. Amicor will even prevent the rapid degradation of cotton fibres, extending the life of towels by up to 25%.    


Viscose blends  

Amicor also blends with viscose for the non-woven production of wipes for kitchens and bathrooms. It will extend the life of individual wipes, providing greater value for money.    


Laundering
 
Amicor towelling materials can be laundered at hospital and commercial food preparation temperatures and still maintain a protective zone for at least 200 washes.    


Recycling
 
What we like about Amicor roller towels is that when the Amicor effect has been used up, the laundries recycle the fabrics and use them for cleaning rags.
